Learn to grow your own vegetables at GLM workshop

If you enjoy the fresh taste of homegrown vegetables, you won't want to miss a special workshop series hosted by TSTC's Golf Course & Landscape Management program.

"Introduction to Vegetable Gardening & Healthy Soil" will cover a variety of topics, from plant nutrition and fertilization, to soil properties, composting and growing a selection of vegetables. Cost is just $50 and includes course materials; soil, seeds and containers; and use of gardening tools.

Classes will be held on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 18 and 25 and March 3 and 10. The registration deadline is Saturday, Feb. 11. Registration and payment are required in advance.

In addition to learning the best practices for growing fresh vegetables, those attending can earn 1.2 hours of Continuing Education Credits.
